How do you even imagine that would work? And now, of course, people start crying that their computers got infected with malware. Which is great - every genius who fell for this obvious phishing scam deserved it. I hope your shitty computer burns and you along with it.

Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

Nintendo STEALS Money!Since this has been going around lately, I should probably give my two cents. Basically what it amounts to is that Nintendo has filed Content ID info of their games with YouTube. What this means is that if you upload gameplay video of a Nintendo game, YouTube will automatically monetize that video, put ads on it, a link to where to buy the game, and take the money generated from that video and give it directly to Nintendo. People who do "let's play" videos are, naturally, pissed off because they want to be earning money off their videos, so they're calling Nintendo "thieves" for doing this.
I can see both sides to the story. I can see Nintendo as a corporation wanting to exercise control over their properties. On the other hand, "let's play" videos can often help new gamers find games they otherwise wouldn't have tried.
But here's the thing: Nintendo isn't the first company do this. Both Microsoft and Ubisoft do it already. YouTube has also had a long history of having music videos and

DA Accounts/Banning - Important Information

Hey there Hi there Ho there!

This keeps happening, so I feel I need to make a journal to help people out.

Lately, DA has been banning/suspending accounts due to apparent "sexual roleplaying." Deviantart is a place for artists, by artists with a variety of people who are members and who visit. DA does not like nor appreciate "sexual RP" on these accounts. Keep in mind, there are people who are members here and visit here, who are a variety of ages - from Grandparents to young kids. Keep in mind, these comments are public and can detract from not only the artwork, but also this website.

This is not me saying "shame on you" everyone's different and I'm not going to judge. I think the idea is the publicity of these comments. Some of these fandoms were not originally created to be mature therefore, younger people are going to be viewing this art - and whose parents would not appreciate them seeing these things. Do you see where I'm going with this? The whole idea, I think, is DA trying to prevent "corruption of young and innocent minds." Comments can't have the "mature content" filter put on - though images can.

All this to say, I think DA would like people to stop RPing on this website in the public comments.....it makes them look like a dirty website when they're here for art and artists of ALL kinds.

So here's what CAN be done:

1) Don't start sexual RPing in public comments (prevention is the fastest way to prevent issues from even happening)

2) If you were banned or your account was suspended, DON'T create a second account to get around the ban (DA specifically says this won't gain you any favours when trying to get your old account back - and CAN result in the new account being suspended)

3) If you are serious about fixing the issue and won't do it again, appeal to DA (and be polite): FAQ #221: I was banned, is there anything I can do?

4) Understand that there are rules for a reason, this protects us, it protects you, it protects DA, and it protects those who visit. Just be kind, understanding, and of course reasonable

Well, I'm not sure if I understand fully how DA feels about it, but I'm guessing they mainly have an issue with the public ones. Again, this is just my guess on why accounts are being banned
